OUR IMPACT
Many children who completed their Secondary Education have gone for some advanced education and have been able to find employment. HCOC has found sponsors for those with significant academic achievements. These children have gone on for higher education at the University level. They will be the leaders of tomorrow.
13 classrooms buildings, administration/library buildings and feeding centers constructed new or renovated; 11 new teacher’s houses and Manager’s home constructed; 8 wells drilled at four schools and HCOC; 3 solar pumping systems for pumping water installed; 15 community wells repaired; 1 orphan home constructed at HCOC that houses at least 12 children plus a house mother.
Two meals a day are served to the orphans. Porridge is served for breakfast. Lunch is served at 1:00 that includes vegetables and Moringa from the garden along with rice or Sadza and beans, kapenta, chicken or soya mince.
From a humble beginning in 2001, with only six orphans, HCOC is now serving approximately 700 orphans. The enrollment varies up to as many as 1,000 plus children at three centers in Ward 1 of Murewa North District. The center provides two meals a day, uniforms, school fees, school supplies and medical care.
More than 20 forty foot sea containers have been shipped to the mission in Zimbabwe since 1997. The containers have been loaded with rice, beans, clothing, blankets, classroom furniture, hygiene kits and medical supplies. New clothes always produce happy faces.
